Ideazon Zboard Gaming Keyboard
- The Zboard™ comes with two Keysets: the Standard Keyset and Gaming Keyset. The Keysets provide users with enhanced capabilities in the software packages they support, as well as giving an edge over those using traditional keyboard devices. Software The Software suite is fully supported by Ideazon, with pre-defined updated lists of 'Ready-To.
- On the page scroll down to 'Legacy Device Software' and to the right where it says 'Z-Engine for Merc, Merc Stealth, Zboard, and Fang'. I have windows 7 64bit and I think I had problems with the UK versions. Go with files that have NA in their name. Just installed ZE25030NA64.exe and it seems to be working well. Detected my Fang with no.

Pros: this was the best gaming keyboard i've ever had!! the Ideazon Fang has yet to be bested by any company out there. a perfect fit for the hand and a perfect layout of keys. this thing was a joy to blast away at the competition with. between this and the logitech g700 mouse i was as agile and spiderman in any first-person shooter.
Cons: sadly, three years after purchase, my 'D' key is now completely worn out. (my favorite key)! so now i have to buy a steel series merc before they quit selling those too because it is the only thing i've seen with the same arrangement of keys. there actually was a similar looking gamepad unit by another company here on newegg until recently and now i can't find it either...
Overall Review: steel series could surely produce more of these if they wanted to but unfortunately, they are as*holes, obviously (because they haven't done it yet)...
bye, bye lil' fang, you will be missed...
Pros: It has been a decent alternate gaming pad For a very long time the keys have held up. Overall a decent gaming pad, Nice that the drivers aren't necessary so you can take it to a LAN party.
Cons: Not extremely good for warcraft 3. Some of they keys aren't as convenient as I would prefer I'E' zxc I normally used E for use and F for flashlight.
Overall Review: If you play alot of CS or other FPS' Just get it. You won't regret it.
Pros: Nice keys.
Cons: The software does NOT allow for remapping. The software does NOT work with World of Warcraft. Do NOT buy this for WoW.
I read online about how there were keymapping features in the software but that is apparenlty older software or just lies.
Don't be fooled. Don't buy this.
Overall Review: While it feels better than the Nostromo n52, the n52 works. This doesn't.
I hate this because now I just saw $35 go down the drain for a piece of junk.
Pros: Great key placement, many game templates, easy to setup. Helps so much in FPS and WOW
Cons: Needed to updated drivers
Overall Review: Its very comfertable, easy to take with your laptop.
It will give you the edge you need for what every type and style of game you prefer
Pros: Nice layout, fairly durable.
Cons: This controller was a series of disapointments and frustrations from the start. First, after installing the Zengine and choosing the mod for my game(World of Warcraft) I found it didn't work. I attempted to remap the WoW UI keybindings to compensate, a poor compromise at best. But the worst was the inconsistent keybindings on the action bar buttons(Numerical pad 1 and 3 with all others being mapped to normal numerical keys.) I should have been able to use the Zengine to remap said keys but as stated above, it didn't work in spite of repeated attampts at re-installing.
Overall Review: I wouldn't recomend this device to any friends after spending around $40 and dealing with it for 3 months before finally trashing the unit.
Pros: doesnt slide around like I thought it would
Cons: I dont like the space bar location, but I got used to it
Overall Review: doesnt have built in profiles for many new games, but who cares it still works and I can make my own profiles
Pros: The quality is great, after a year of abuse i've yet to have any part of failure to work. I love the versatility. I like that I don't have to use the software (even the media player keys work without it). Its perfect size for the armrest of my lazyboy where i play most my games from now.
Cons: Pinky keys are hard to reach. I wish the keys were backlit (or it had a usb port for a flex light). Having it is making me look at more expensive game pads (sort of a con), but non have made me want to give it up yet.
The only real con is the software. I works fine, but limits your playing to the fang. If you try to play your games with a full sized keyboard your key mappings will be thrown off by the software (but you can choose to not use it as all as I do).
Pros: Fits left and right handed people. WASD movement keys are centered and symmetric. The buttons are set up such that some are convex and some are concave so it's easy to tell what buttons you have your fingers on.
Cons: The tactile feel on the buttons is a little too soft. They have low tension on the button springs. It would be nice if it was a little more firm. The jump button on the side is too small and doesn't depress far enough. You can't change the key mappings through the software either.
Overall Review: I thought it would be a nice device, but I'm not sure it's really better than just using a keyboard. The major thing is really that the movement keys (WASD) are perfectly centered and symmetric on the Z-board, unlike on a keyboard where the W key is shifted a bit to the left. Other than that though it's not too much of an improvement.
